3.1 The Metamorph
During a reconnaissance mission to locate urgently needed minerals on a volcanic planet, the Alphans discover that not only is the planet Psychon inhabited but that it’s leader Mentor is in desperate need of the Alphans for the brain energy which they possess and he will do anything to get them there. Meanwhile his innocent daughter, Maya, who has learned the secret of metamorphic transformation, is unaware of the evil he is doing and is shortly forced to face the truth and choose between what is right and wrong.
Editor’s Note:
With the huge differences between the first original season and the second one it was very difficult to make a direct continuity between the two seasons. With the new season ending episode, Sidon’s Revenge, leaving us with many uncertainties about who lived and who died and the future of Monnbase Alpha itself, I wanted the action of this Third season to be further away. This was done by pushing the action almost a year later (like the filming production itself did) Main Mission moved to a more secured area, uniforms evolved and new bonds created with other crew members. But memories of those who did not survive still haunt the thoughts and dreams of our beloved characters, especially Commander Koenig to whom every death on this base is personal. But life must go on and the search for a new world still being a priority is now paired with the struggle to survive on a base whose structure suffered great loss. Trying to merge this season with the previous ones, I have kept the opening overture with Barry Gray’s Theme so that we have the feeling of watching the same show. I have also modified the Season One costume of Koenig and Russell to match this season’s design. Also, I’ve made the planet scenes more realistic by replacing the obvious mock up with real volcano footage |
