2.9 Another Time, Another Place

The moon passes into a bizarre phenomena where a mirror image of each Alphan is seemingly split off into a different space and time and also shifts the moon across a vast distance of space.  One of them, Regina is badly affected by the experience and seems to be living another life separate from her real life on Alpha.  Meanwhile the moon encounters their own solar system but discover it is a different Earth with another moon already in orbit.  As their moon also goes into orbit it is apparent that these two moons are meant to be in another time and another place from one another.

Editor’s Note:
This classic episode of the series is one of many people’s favourites and one of mine also.  If Season One has a lot of earthly contact and references like Voyager’s Return, Death’s Other Dominion and Matter of Life and Death  then Season Two focuses more on strange alien worlds.  No in-depth reference to the catastrophic event that hurled the moon out of Earth’s orbit or Earth itself was mentioned until this episode.  So, now being so far in the second season makes it more unique. Also, at this point our understanding of many characters has evolved... like Sandra and Paul’s relationship so it is no surprise to see they have children on the alternate Earth in this episode.
