1.5 Dragon's Domain

Dr. Russell has the voiceover for this episode which retells the tale offered by the sole survivor of the Ultra Probe crew, a doomed space probe mission  which encountered an eerie graveyard of lost spaceships, but is Tony Cellini’s tale real or imagined?  If real, the Alphans could now face the same danger that his space crew faced with deadly results.

Editor’s Note:
This is one of the most memorable stories of the series.  Even 35 years later the dragon is still effective, or should I say frightening!  For this new chronology, I needed to put this episode early in the series.  With John’s best friend on Moonbase Alpha it was strange not to hear from him before the end of the season.  Unfortunately, the story was happening 877 after leaving earth’s orbit which meant the original chronology never really made any sense as the show went from over 800 days in the first season to over 300 at the start of the second.  Fortunately it was possible to change this so now the story is happening 87 days after leaving earth with all of the original dates adapted too.  Sharp-eyed fans will also notice that the original orange typewriter has been replaced with a more modern design computer.
