1.2 The Eyes of Heaven

Only a few hours after the moon has been catapulted into an unknown area of space, Moonbase Alpha is trapped into the orbit of an alien sphere by a force field and probed for information. One Alphan is possessed from a distance and controlled by the probe in order to gain access to confidential information that must be manually accessed from its computers but the process quickly results in his death.

Shortly after, the probe manipulates a group of Alphans into a mercy medical mission onto the moon’s surface which allows it to kidnap and transport Dr. Helena Russell to its chambers in order to improve the possession process then returns her to continue the same info gathering mission. Meanwhile, Bergman finds reference in old Egyptian text of a similar encounter called “Eyes of Heaven.” Not knowing the probe’s purpose and if it was awaiting their arrival or even responsible for the wormhole that propelled the moon into deep space, Koenig must break through the probe’s protective force field in an Eagle to try and land and make contact with the inhabitants of the probe and find a way to convince them to free the captive moon and rescue Helena from its deadly control before it’s too late.
